SUMMARY:Sino-German collaboration
DESCRIPTION:Since years\, China is Germany’s largest trading partner. Often the German knowledge about China is still limited and biased by media coverage and individual projections about each other. Covid has magnified the collaboration challenge between teams and sites – working from home offices with initially limited technical equipment on both sides\, prevalence of virtual exchanges over online meetings\, limited travel options to Chinese subsidiaries which are expected to last into 2022 etc. Given all these constraints and cultural magnifiers in the virtual context\, misunderstandings in Sino-German project teams have been on the rise. \nOur intercultural business training provides a refresher of the Chinese mindset and highlights selected cultural\, political\, historical and economic backgrounds and actual developments. Depending on the needs of the participants\, the following topics\, for example\, which play a role in working with Chinese business partners and colleagues\, can be examined: \n\nSino-German perceptions. Key Sino-German values\nMindset – What are differences and similarities?\nTrust – How do I build sustainable business relationships\, what business customs should I observe?\nCommunicating effectively in projects – decoding implicit messages and body language\nHierarchy@work – understanding leadership styles & decision-making\nWorking styles\, time management & understanding of planning\nCreating synergies in the Sino-German collaboration – developing strategies for smooth interactions between German and Chinese colleagues & business partners\n\nBenefits\n\nYour contacts and projects will run smoothly\nYou can prevent misunderstandings and conflicts\nYou save time\, nerves and money\n\nMethods\n\nVirtual tools (including polls\, chat\, whiteboard\, quizzes)\nInteractive exercises & breakout sessions in tandems & groups\nVideos\nSharing of experiences and discussion among participants\n\nNote on times\n\nAs a virtual workshop: 9 am – 12 pm and 2 pm – 5 pm\nAs in-house measure: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. incl. lunch and coffee breaks\n\nNumber of participants: 3 to max. 10\nYou can book the training as an in-house measure or as a virtual training. SUMMARY:Short Workshop: Leading effective virtual meetings across cultures
DESCRIPTION:Since 2020\, virtual working from the home office has become the “new work” routine overnight. Travel options and face2face meetings suddenly disappeared\, but projects still had to continue. By remote control\, with trial and error. Without specific preparation or training in this previously little-used medium. Since then\, many people have found themselves in a day that is riddled with online meetings. Terms like “zoom fatigue\,” “resilience\,” etc. indicate that face2face meeting principles do not simply translate into the virtual space. Because virtual collaboration is here to stay in the post-Covid era\, it is time for a moment of individual pause\, reflection on own experiences and sharing of tools & rules for successful virtual communication. The Short Workshop insight into the dynamics of virtual communication and cross-cultural collaboration. \nMain Contents\n\nDual Challenge – virtual meetings and cross-cultural preferences and work styles\nBridging distance\, creating closeness and psychological safety\nVirtual meetings vs. face2face meetings vs. hybrid meetings\nBest practices and agile tools for the design and execution of virtual meetings in all meeting phases\n\nBenefits\n\nReflection of own experiences\nExchange among participants with their best practices\nReflection on the role of the meeting faciliator\nImprove virtual meeting quality\, identify individual areas of action\, gain confidence with the online media\nFill your tool box\n\nMethods\n\nVirtual collaboration tools\nTrainer Input\nInteractive exercises and breakout sessions in tandems and groups\nSharing of experiences and discussion among participants\n\nNote on times\n\n3 hours with a short break.\n\nThis course is also available as a one day Workshop.
