DESCRIPTION:Basic seminar (duration 4h)*\nDo you regularly travel to Vietnam\, are you posted there or do you often have to deal with Vietnamese colleagues and busines partners? In this short seminar you learn the most important basics to avoid the typical pitfalls\, to move confidently in business life and to understand the most important intercultural contexts and differences. The seminar is rounded off with an introduction to the etiquette you should observe as a foreigner when working with Vietnamese. \n\n\nIntercultural basics and sensitisation\nInsights into Vietnamese culture\nCommunication in Vietnam\nIndividualism versus collectivism\nEtiquette\, Dos and Dont’s\n\n\nBuilding on the basic seminar\, we offer various advanced modules on the topics of HR management in Vietnam\, negotiating in Vietnam\, life in Vietnam for expatriates\, and dealing with Vietnamese authorities. We also offer individual coaching sessions on Vietnam in which we provide you with advice during your Vietnam engagement. The module lays the intercultural foundations for building resilient relationships with business partners in Vietnam\, which are an elementary basis for good local business. \n\n\nRelationships as a basis for cooperation\nUnderstanding contracts – differences in Germany and Vietnam\nDeepening communication in negotiations\n\n\nAdvanced module 3 (duration 2h): Living in Vietnam for expatriates\nThe advanced module “Living in Vietnam for expatriates” provides you with the most important information to have a relaxed and successful start in Vietnam in your life as an expatriate. \n\n\nPersonal security\nLiving in Vietnam\nDifferences between North\, Central and South Vietnam\, urban and rural areas\nDealing with corruption\nPrivate travel in Vietnam\nTraffic in Vietnam\nPossibilities for leisure activities\nRoom for individual questions\n\n\nAdvanced module 4 (duration 2h): Dealing with Vietnamese authorities\nIn the advanced module “Dealing with Vietnamese authorities” you will get first insights into how Vietnamese authorities work and what this means for you as a foreign manager. We discuss questions about local corruption and how best to deal with it\, as well as the tension between the usual way of dealing in Vietnam and modern compliance requirements. \n\n\nGovernment and administration in Vietnam – an introduction\nDealing with authorities as a manager and expat\nCorruption in Vietnam\n\n\nBenefits\n\nBy combining the basic module with the advanced modules relevant to you\, you can put together your own personal Vietnam training\nInformation from practitioners for practitioners\nRelaxed interaction with Vietnamese business partners and employees\nAvoid putting your foot in your mouth and losing face\nClarify intercultural issues that have arisen in dealing with Vietnamese business partners and colleagues\nBuild up an understanding of behaviour patterns of Vietnamese business partners and colleagues that have so far led to frustration and conflict\n\nMethods\n\nPractice-oriented input from a trainer with many years of Vietnamese experience as a consultant\, manager and entrepreneur\nLecture combined with interactive exercises\nAnalysis of case studies\, gladly also examples from the participants\nModerated exchange of experiences and discussion between participants\n\nSpecial format/requirements\nThe advanced modules can only be booked together with the basic module or after the basic module has been attended.
